Aah, the scarf, that high-brow fashion staple that never goes out of style and can be worn in sooo many True Fashionista ways that we cannot wrap our heads (sorry) around it. We can, however, share here a few of the more popular ways to rock that accessory. In the event you find yourself so fired up and feel the need to increase your scarf collection, there are plenty waiting for you at True Fashionistas consignment store, Naples.

But why scarves anyway? They only date back to ancient Egypt, where Queen Nefertiti used the first recorded scarf in 1350 B.C. Chinese Emperor Cheng’s regime used scarves to mark military rank. Fast forward to 1837 when French fashion empire Hermes designed the first ready-to-wear silk scarf. Then after Queen Victoria popularized silk cravats with stunning True Fashionista graphic prints that same year, the scarf as we know it came to be.

Since then, high-end fashion designers have been producing custom-printed scarves in a range of fabrics. Technology has also allowed graphics to be pulled from artwork and applied to premium fabrics to create unique, one-of-a-kind designs and fashion statements.

Now that we know all about scarves, time to throw down with suggestions before heading down to Naples’ best consignment store, True Fashionistas, to grab a few for scarf success!

13 WAYS TO WEAR A SCARF

1 – INFINITY LOOP

Infinity loop scarves are the ones that are pre-sewn into a loop; give ‘em a quick twist and even placement for a True Fashionista look. Watch for creating a tiny loop at the top, resulting in way too much cloth at the bottom.

2 – FAUX INFINITY

Maybe you feel like an infinity loop scarf is just the True Fashionista thing today, but you don’t own one. Fake it with the regular version! Just knot the two opposite corners of the scarf together to create a circle, then swing it over your head twice, keeping the knot at the back.

3 - LAYERING FOR SUCCESS

Take an oversized scarf and wrap it evenly around your neck with a soft tie at the bottom, so the ends hang softly.

4 – THE NAPOLEON

This one’s for smaller True Fashionista square silk scarves. Fold a square scarf into a triangle and roll it up. Drape it around your neck and tie a double knot off to one side. And presto, you’re in the 60s, baby yeah!

5 – THE LOOP DE LOOP

Cross the scarf behind your neck, then bring both ends to the front. Tuck one end of the scarf through the loop and keep going until you run out of scarf. Then do the same to the other end. Aaand done!

6 – HALF TIED

This one works with all types of True Fashionista scarves. Hold the scarf in the middle, wrap it around the back of your neck and bring the two sides together in front. Overlap the two sides in the front to make a knot and adjust the scarf to give it a voluminous look.

7– THE BLANKET SCARF TIE

In the cooler weather, an oversized blanket scarf comes in handy to provide a stylish way to keep warm on windy, fall days. Wrap the scarf around your neck, bring the two sides in and stick ‘em through the loop of the scarf in front.

8 – BASIC LOOP

Drape a scarf unevenly around your neck, so the short end hits the chest area. Loop the longer end around your neck twice, then let it hang. Easy!

10 – KNOTTED BASIC LOOP

Start with the above, then jauntily tie the two ends off to one side.

11 – THE LOOP-THROUGH

Fold your scarf in half and drape around your neck, then feed both ends through the loop and pull through.

12 – DRAPE IT, BABY!

What, no time? No energy? Just drape ‘n go. Could it really be that True Fashionista and simple? Do this with a scarf that’s long enough to reach your waist, and you can wear a thin belt over it for a twist.

13 – DRAPE PT II

Drape around the neck, then toss one end over a shoulder for throwback scarf mode. If the urge compels you, continue by doing the same for the other side.
